Department of Electronics and Communication Engineeirng
Electronics & Communication Engineering is a core branch of engineering which deals with design of various electronics circuit and communication systems. Our telecom industry is growing very rapidly. Now a day’s telecom industry is providing more jobs than any other field. Due to increased jobs in telecom sector demand of EC Engineers is increasing very rapidly.
Graduates in Electronics Engineering have opportunities in Government and private companies for installation, operation and maintenance of electronics equipments and systems. Defense, space and other large research organizations employ electronics engineers in design and development of complex devices and systems for signal processing and telecommunication. Industries involved in design and fabrication of devices, integrated circuits, embedded systems, electronic equipments etc also provide large scale placements for engineers with this specialization. Installation and maintenance of electronic equipments used for health care in hospitals, equipments & systems for instrumentation and control in process industries automation systems of assembly line in production industries, etc are also handled by electronics engineers.
The Department established in 2008, has qualified, young and dynamic teaching staff from reputed institutions with specializations in various streams of this field of engineering. The team of faculty members, supported by well-trained laboratory staff and technicians cater to the need for the over-all development of students in academics as well as in other technical activities. Apart from the regular subjects of the course, the department also offers a wide range of elective subjects, which benefits the students in pursuing their field of interest so as to specialize and concentrate more on fields relevant to their project. Subjects like Optical Fiber Communication, Artificial Intelligence, Biomedical Engineering, Satellite Communication, and Radar Systems etc. fall under the scope of elective subjects offered. Notwithstanding the above, the department always looks for creative and technologically advanced skill transfer to the students through collaboration, guidance and counseling in the department.
Within a short span of its existence the department has established following laboratories:
- Basic Electronics Lab
- Digital Electronics Lab
- Microprocessor Lab
- Communication Lab
- DSP Lab
- Analog Integrated Circuit Lab
- Optical Communication Lab
- e-CAD Lab
- Microwave Lab
- Electronics Work Shop for PCB design and fabrication.
- Project Lab with facility to work on DSP, MATLAB & VHDL.
.The laboratories are well maintained and are regularly updated responding to the changing needs of the technological scenario. The Project Lab is an exclusive facility offered to the students apart from their curriculum with the purpose of developing their creative thinking and innovative skills. This is a unique opportunity where facilities exist for learners to gain sound software skills along with the hardware skills acquired in the other laboratories.
